GENERAL INFORMATION
It is a program established to train health personnel who provide psychological, social support and medical care to the older people and individuals in need of care at home and related institutions. The program provides aged care technician training at associate degree level.

Objective
To train an older people care technician who is a health professional who takes personal care of older people and needy individuals, performs jobs and functions related to home care services, promotes old people to life, uses their free time productively, makes it a habit for them to be sensitive and protective of their own body and living spaces.


Admission Requirements
Students to be enrolled in this program must take the student selection exam conducted by ÖSYM and get a sufficient number of points.

Graduation Requirements
Students enrolled in Pamukkale University must complete an academic average of at least 2.25 and 120 ECTS. The department provides education at the associate degree level, and students who successfully complete the fall and spring semesters and internship programs in the summer, graduate with the title of old people care technician.

Career Opportunties
Graduates can work in public institutions and organizations with beds, private health institutions and organizations providing old people care services, institutions and organizations affiliated with universities, public Nursing Home Old People Care and Rehabilitation centers.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied. The common compulsory foreign language courses exemption exam is held at the beginning of the fall semester on the date specified in the academic calendar. No make-up exam is allowed for this exam. Students of faculties/vocational schools/schools who do not have a preparatory program take the joint compulsory foreign language exemption exam. Students who will take the exemption exam apply to the relevant unit within the period specified in the academic calendar. Also; Students who enroll in departments with foreign language preparatory programs for the first time take a placement and proficiency exam before the academic year starts. Students are placed in one of the beginner, intermediate-lower level or intermediate level groups according to the scores they get in this exam, or those who have proficiency points are exempted from preparatory education. The score ranges of these groups are determined by the School Directorate. Exam results are announced in relevant places and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Among the students who are enrolled in the departments/programs accepted to the compulsory preparatory education, those who do not take the level determination and proficiency exam start their education at the beginning level.

Access to Further Studies
If they are successful in the DGS exam, they have the opportunity to continue with the related undergraduate program in formal education. The following are the departments of Old People Care DGS, where candidates as an Old people Care graduate can transfer with the DGS: Nutrition and Dietetics Physical therapy and rehabilitation Gerontology Nursing Nursing and Health Services
