The Institute of Social Sciences was founded in 1992 within the institutional infrastructure of the Pamukkale University to conduct MA and PhD stdueis. The Institute comprises now nineteen departments, which carry out MA and PhD teaching. The staff in the institute is as as follows: 1 director, 2 deputy director, 1 secretary of the institute, 6 full-time staff and 6 part-time students. The institute has now more than 1500 registered students.

The mission of the Institute of Social Sciences is to support a high quality research and scholarly works, and it helps to educate academic staff for universities and to support its students in every way to gain scientific and techonological skills which the society will need. The institute also prepares its students with skills to work globally.
