Course Objective	Presenting what is intertextuality as a new method both in reading and analyzing literary texts, examining its theory, origin and narratives, and discussing its relations with other fields with sample texts.
Course Content	Description of intertextuality, its theory and its origin. Major theoreticians, differences and similarities between theoreticians. Its reflections on intertextuality and other fields. Sample texts and analysis.

2	Reflections of the concept of intertextuality on literature and other fields. Deconstruction and intertextuality. Intertextuality and poststructuralism from Bakhtin to Derrida.
3	Major theoreticians of Intertextuality and a general overview about their thoughts. The place and importance of Intertextuality in literary criticism
4	Russian Formalists and Intertextuality.
5	Intertextual theory of Mikhail Bakhtin: “Discourse”
6	Julia Kristeva’s theory of Intertextuality and its importance in literature. Contribution of Bakhtin into the theory of Intertextuality.
7	Michael Riffaterre’s theory of Intertextuality in comparison with Kristeva and Bakhtin.
8	Mid-Term Exam.
9	Roland Barthes and Intertextuality. His view point of Intertextuality through the contemporary myths. His similar and different ways in comparison with other theoreticians.
10	Gérard Genette and Intertextuality. Intertextual perspectives as a narrative analysis in relation with the literary criticism. Examples.
11	Intertextual Methods: Mutualcollacation and definition of methods in accordance with derivations. Examples.
