Course Objective The purpose of the course is to inform students about the world Englishes and create awareness towards multilanguage communication in various cultures; to create awareness towards the role and importance of English in intercultural communication in the world.
Course Content The use of English as an international language, English as a common language and English with its different uses; reflections of these usages on education; the development of students' awareness of the relationship between language and culture and the examination of the place of the culture in language teaching; evaluation of textbooks, literary works, films, TV in terms of cultural objects

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students will be aware of the values affecting various intercultural communication styles, especially Turkish, American and other nations.
2Students will be able to analyze the values affecting various intercultural communication styles, especially Turkish, American and other nations.
3Students will study and understand the importance of English in various English speaking countries.
4Students will understand and improve their critical thinking skill by analyzing the issues from various perspectives without depending on only one cultural aspect.
5Students respect cultural variety in various cultures in the world.
