Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students from non-theology faculties with a comprehensive, clear, and academically grounded understanding of the fundamental principles of Islamic faith. In this context, the concept and nature of faith (īmān), belief in God, angels, revealed books, prophets, the hereafter, and divine decree and destiny (qaḍāʾ and qadar) will be examined within a systematic framework. Throughout the course, these principles will be addressed not merely as theoretical doctrines but also in relation to the human understanding of existence, moral responsibility, and overall worldview. The course aims to enable students to comprehend these principles not through fragmented information or popular discussions, but within their own internal coherence and conceptual unity.
Course Content
This course examines the fundamental principles of Islamic faith within a clear and systematic framework accessible to students from non-theology faculties. It covers core topics such as the concept of faith (īmān), belief in God, divine unity (tawḥīd), belief in angels, revealed books, prophets, the hereafter, and divine decree and destiny (qaḍāʾ and qadar). The course also addresses the relationship between these principles and the human understanding of existence, moral responsibility, consciousness of worship, worldview, and social conduct. Without engaging in technical theological debates, the course aims to introduce the meaning and structure of Islamic belief through its essential concepts and principles.
