COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim is for students to have knowledge about the concept of mental health, the definition of normal and abnormal behaviors, the factors affecting children's mental health, the long-term effects of childhood mental health, the causes and solutions of adaptation and behavioral problems seen in childhood.
Course Content Definition and importance of mental health, historical development of mental health, theories about mental health, characteristics of individuals with and without mental health, child mental health, adaptation and behavioral problems seen in children, child mental health in special cases, children with diagnosed special problems, children The effects of neglect and abuse on child mental health.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Defines mental health, describes the characteristics of mentally healthy individuals, and lists normal and abnormal behavioral criteria.
2Describe the characteristics that make mental health in childhood different from that in adulthood.
3Explains the genetic, biological and psycho-social factors that affect mental health in children.
4Describe the symptoms of various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children.
5Explains the possible causes of various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children.
6Explain medical and psychological treatment methods for correcting various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children.
7Discusses suggestions for families and teachers regarding the prevention and correction of various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children.
