2103 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
The aim of this program to educate preschool teachers living according to Atatürks principles and reforms, loyal to his country and nation, knowing to national values, awaring to his values of age, qualified, altruistic, creative thinking, to interrogate, ethical, criticizing, enterprising, universal look for preschool education an instruction to deal with sciencetific research to be equipped about teacher professions information and skills.

Objective
This program to be development continual wide look and universal information and experience, knowing about national and international preschool education approach, humanist, respectful himself and self assurance, general cultured, creativity, tolerant and patient personality teachers.


Admission Requirements
First cycle degree, acceptable score on centralized graduate entrance exam, placement through local oral/written exam and certificate of English proficiency

Graduation Requirements
A student must complete the required course load (21 PAU credits) with a CGPA of at least 3.00/4.00; present a research seminar and successfully prepare and defend a thesis.

Career Opportunties
Students who completed this program can work at different üniversities as an academic personel and an expert

1Graduates of this program will have the sufficient level of knowledge about his/her field in order to meet the needs of student and use this knowledge in educational settings.
2Graduates of this program will use therotical and practical knowledge at mastery level of his/her educational field and expand and elaborate them.
3Graduates of this program will make suggestions to solve problems in his/her educational field using quantitative and qualitative research methods.
4 Graduates of this program will know the developmental properties and learning patterns of targeted student groups that s/he will be working with and generate proper effective plans, develop material and make applications regarding these properties.
5 They will share current developments and their works in the field of education with the groups in written, oral and visual transfers and in a systematic way.
6 They will take responsibility for the solution of the complex applications in the field of education, and produce new strategic approaches.
7They will develop strategy, policy and implementation plans, in the field of education, and evaluate the results according the quality processes.
8They will develop knowledge and skills to use information and communication technologies in the field of education
9They will collecte data and interprete them, which is about their research area of interest related to the field of education. During the introduction stages, they will respect social and ethical values.

TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS

LecturingLecturing is one of the methods that come first, where the teacher is in the center. It is a method where the teacher actively describes topics and the students are passive listeners. With this method, lesson proceeds in the form of report, description and explanation.
DebateDepending on the situation, debate is a tool that allows all students, or a specific portion of the class to participate in the lesson. In this method, members of the group discuss a topic by addressing the various points of view and discuss alternative opinions about problem-solving.
DemonstrationIn this method the teacher demonstrates, an experiment, test, in front of the class. And then assists students to do so too. Students learn not only by just by looking and watching, but also by taking part and participating. This method is usually applied when teaching skills.
Problem SolvingThe name given to any doubt or ambiguity that arises is, a problem. Problems which usually have a role in human life, that have preventing or annoying aspects are solved by considering the stages of scientific methods. (a) Problems are determined. (b) The problem is identified. 
Cooperative LearningCooperative Learning is; a kind of learning that is based on the students working together for a common purpose. Children with different skills come together in heterogeneous groups to learn by helping each other. Students gain experiences such as becoming aware of the unity
