111 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION - PRESCHOOL TEACHING

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Early Childhood Education has been a pioneer in early childhood education, with a rich history dating back to 1993. The department launched its undergraduate program in 1993, master's program in 1998, non-thesis master's program in 2020, and doctoral program in 2018. The education processes of the department are carried out in a democratic and participatory environment under the leadership of a dynamic teaching staff who are experts in their fields and who constantly adapt to changes and developments in education. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are conducted in Turkish. Graduates of the program are equipped to teach in all public and private early childhood education and care institutions. Those who meet the conditions determined in the relevant institutions can also serve in managerial roles.

Objective
This program aims to train teachers who are committed to Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions, have the principle of serving their country and nation, have ethical values, develop critical and creative thinking skills, adapt to the needs of the digital age, have a multicultural and universal perspective, adopt collaborative learning methods, contribute to sustainable development goals and are equipped with innovative educational strategies.


Admission Requirements
Students must comply with the legal and academic requirements to access the studies in The Sakarya University according to the process established by the ÖSYM (Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Centre) regulations. Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, including compulsory practical trainings, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
Graduates of the program are equipped to teach in all public and private early childhood education and care institutions. Those who meet the conditions determined in the relevant institutions can also serve in managerial roles.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" apply.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, including compulsory practical trainings, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in post-graduate programs provided that they receive valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.
