GENERAL INFORMATION
The department of Psychology was founded in 2013 and as of the 2021-2022 academic year, the first undergraduate courses were offered. Instructors in our department lecture courses and carry out their research from different sub-areas of psychology (clinical psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, learning-cognitive-bio-experimental psychology). It was aimed to acquaint students with basic theoretical perspectives, research, and methodology as well as professional and practical skills across a variety of fields in psychology.

Objective
As the Department of Psychology, we aim to prepare our students for their future careers, both academically and practically by covering the basic sub-fields of Psychology; to train students with an up-to-date and interdisciplinary approach in both education and research; to develop their professional knowledge and skills with an ethical and scientific perspective, and to train professionals who use it for the benefit of society and humanity.


Admission Requirements
The number of students to be admitted to undergraduate education and their entry conditions are determined by YÖK in line with the proposal of the relevant board and the decision of the Senate. Students are admitted with the central entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM. For detailed information, please review the regulations on the page of PAU Registrar's Office. Graduation Requirements
Successfully completing all the courses available in the program (for a total of 240 ECTS) and having a weighted grade point average of at least 2.30 out of 4.00 are the necessary conditions for graduation.

Career Opportunties
Our graduates can work in public and private hospitals, family courts and judicial institutions such as Penitentiary and Detention Houses, institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education if they receive formation, and kindergartens, industrial and industrial establishments, advertising companies, research institutions, survey companies, guidance centers, psychotechnical centers, private training centers.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied. The common compulsory foreign language courses exemption exam is held at the beginning of the fall semester on the date specified in the academic calendar. No make-up exam is allowed for this exam. Students of faculties/vocational schools/schools who do not have a preparatory program take the joint compulsory foreign language exemption exam. Students who will take the exemption exam apply to the relevant unit within the period specified in the academic calendar. Also; Students who enroll in departments with foreign language preparatory programs for the first time take a placement and proficiency exam before the academic year starts. Students are placed in one of the beginner, intermediate-lower level or intermediate level groups according to the scores they get in this exam, or those who have proficiency points are exempted from preparatory education. The score ranges of these groups are determined by the School Directorate. Exam results are announced in relevant places and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Among the students who are enrolled in the departments/programs accepted to the compulsory preparatory education, those who do not take the level determination and proficiency exam start their education at the beginning level.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in post-graduate programs provided that they receive valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Obtaining different theoretical knowledge and applying them in a wide range of service areas by using the current resources of psychology (textbooks, application tools, etc.).
2Having basic observation and interview skills that can explain the cognitive, emotional and behavioral processes of human beings.
3To be able to monitor, analyze and intervene in the process of a psychological phenomenon.
4Being able to take part in studies that will contribute to the development of the field of psychology and that will contribute to improving the quality of life of the society on the basis of universal, regional and contextual needs.
5To have basic knowledge and skills about measurement and evaluation tools used in subfields of psychology and to be able to apply and develop them.
6To have independent research skills by using the knowledge gained in the field of psychology and appropriate research methods (quantitative, qualitative) and to be able to produce appropriate research questions, create patterns, design and implement experiments.
7Collecting and analyzing psychological research data, being able to think critically and interpreting the results and reporting in accordance with scientific writing format.
8Being able to do intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary teamwork knowing the contribution of psychology's basic approach and perspective to other disciplines.
9Ability to act independently, take responsibility, think analytically and creatively, and be open to development.
10Adopting the importance of lifelong learning, following the developments in science, informatics and technology, developing oneself and using them competently.
11To be able to communicate by expressing thoughts and information, verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.

TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS
