Course Objective To comprehend the concept and the phenomenon ‘curriculum’ To be aware of curriculum implemented at the primary education To comprehend the politics and implementations of primary education in Turkish National Education System To analyze curriculum design models To analyze curriculum development models To discuss the foundations of curriculum (historical, philosophical, psychological and social) To comprehend and implement the concept, principal and models of curriculum evaluation To analyze new trends in curriculum development
Course Content Main concepts in Curriculum development. Teaching principals in primary education. Main characteristics of primary education curriculum. The relationships between development, learning and curriculum development. Components of Education Program (Aim, content, learning-teaching processes, evaluation). Steps of curriculum development (design, practice, evaluation and correction).

1With pre-readings, the student discusses the concepts of “learning” and “motivation” and comprehension ability as to these concepts
2Discussing as to the status of motivation in learning
3Discussing as to ontological, epistemological and methodological arguments in learning and motivation
4Evaluating motivation of arguments concerning educational
5Explaining educational dynamics of motivation
6The student analyses and syntheses the conceptional and theoretical knowledge as to the learning & motivation method obtained from various resources in Turkish and foreign languages
