COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Understanding of geometric relationship between linear structures and folds. To learn how to apply structural analyses in interpreting tectonically deformed terranes. The understanding of application scopes of stereographic projection.
Course Content Microstructure and tectonic fabric, minor folds, kink bands, cleavage and foliation, structures of budinage, mullions, joint and veins of tension, shear fractures, shear zones and lineations. Geometric relationships between macro tectonic structures and all of these structures and also relationships between strain-deformation. Oriented hand specimens taking from field. Lineation at microskopic scale, schistosity-cleavage (S-C fabric) relationships, analysis of polyphase deformations.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Deformation phases and tectonic evolution of deformed rocks exposed rocks for the understanding and interpretation of microscopic examination of thin sections prepared.
