COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Geochemical characteristics of phyllosilicate minerals and their application to the geological environments
Course Content Basic terms of geochemistry; analytic methods for determining of geochemical composition of phyllosilicates; phyllosilicate stability diagrams; classifications of clay, mica and chlorites with respect to their chemistry and calculation of structural formulas; major, minor/trace and REE geochemistry of phyllosilicates; evaluation diagrams for major, minor/trace and REE geochemistry of phyllosilicates; stable (O-H) and radiogenic (K-Ar, Ar-Ar etc.) isotope geochemistry of phyllosilicates; relationships between isotopic composition of phyllosilicates and their origin and formation temperature; relationships among the chemical composition, occurrence, transformation and diagenetic-metamorphic evolution of phyllosilicates
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Classification of phyllosilicate can be made on the basis of their chemical analysis
2Formation conditions of sedimentary, magmatic and metamorphic rocks can evaluate
3Age of minerals can be determined by radiogenic isotope geochemistry investigations
4Origin and formation temperature of solution can determine by stable isotopic studies
5Relationships between chemical composition and geological evolution can evaluate
