Course Objective The main aim of this course is to develop learners’ understanding of philosophy of qualitative research, qualitative designs basic approaches and to introduce a number of qualitative data collection and analysis methods and improve their knowledge and skills to evaluate and criticize qualitative research in science education. At the end of the process, the course involves empowering learners to foster an aspiration to design a qualitative research, accomplish the results as a portfolio and present their research process.
Course Content Data collection with qualitative research methods by creating small groups (observation, interviews, document). Learning main qualitative research, steps of it and data collection techniques. Analysis of qualitative data. Writing up results of qualitative research. Writing qualitative research proposal. Criticizing qualitative studies and thesis.
