Course Objective Understand the world languages and their principles of classification; comprehend the logic of this classification and the place of Turkish in it; gain skills to see the structures of the languages and their functions.
Course Content Main purpose of this class is to study Turkish language and grammar and give general knowledge about language. In achieving this, some noteworthy topics will be chosen from Turkish and they will be compared to similar topics in other languages in terms of different linguistic levels. This class will also focus on what language is, how it emerged, what stages it went through, its logic and psychology, genetic and cultural relations between languages, language stratifications and linguistic parameters and so on.
