Course Objective To examine new Islamic thougth movements started to emerge in the Islamic world In the 19th century and especially spread in Egypt, India, Afghanistan and Pakistan and the other Islamic countries in 20th century.
Course Content New Islamic thought movements and their conceptual framework. The reasons influnced the emergence of Islamic thought movements. Syed Ahmad Khan, Jamal al-Din al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, Rashid Reza, Mohammad Iqbal, Fazlur Rahman Malik etc. Islamic thought thinkers.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1The student knows the reasons of the emergence of new Islamic thought in the Islamic world.
2The student learns in which countries the new Islamic thought was put forward.
3The student recognize the similarities and differences between the new Islamic thoughts.
4The student knows the effects of innovative Islamic ideas on the Islamic thought of today's Muslims.
5The student learns the opposing views of the ideas of new Islamists.
