Course Objective
The aim of this course is to address the issues that have been on the field of family counseling in recent years.
Course Content
The course will focus on topics that have been on the field in recent years, beyond traditional theories and methods in marriage and family counseling. Legal, ethical and cultural issues in family and marriage counseling; training and professional criteria in marriage and family counseling; developmental view of families and couples; change process in families and couples; the effect of marriage, romantic relationships and counseling attitudes and biases of families on the counseling process; a brief history of research and legal changes in marriage and family counseling; feminist view of marriage and family therapy; the reflections of the changing and globalizing world on marriage and family therapies; brief marriage and family counseling.
