COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide supervision for the students to use their basic knowledge and skills related to family counseling in practice through family counseling practices.
Course Content The course consists of counseling sessions with couples and group seminars where these counseling practices are discussed. The main content of the course will be the supervision of students to develop their skills in which they demonstrate what they have learned from theoretical courses in real counseling practice - where counseling skills are assessed and developed, counseling sessions with real clients are assessed in small class sessions and their records are monitored.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Provides therapeutic conditions in psychological counseling process
2Applies appropriate therapeutic skills in psychological counseling process
3Performs the pre-interview in psychological counseling
4Establish an effective psychological counseling relationship with the client
5Helps to determine the objectives of the client.
6Acts in accordance with professional ethical principles and rules in family counseling practice
7Terminates family counseling sessions and do follow-up
8To be able to use the supervision process within the scope of family counseling effectively (preparing for supervision, being open to feedback in supervision, transferring the things spoken in supervision to the implementation process).
9Develops family counseling skills.
