Course Objective To teach methods of plastic forming and basic principles of plastic deformation. And also strength increasing treatments, factors effecting plastic deformation.
Course Content Methods of plastic forming, Basic principles of plastic deformation, Strength increasing treatments, Factors effecting plastic deformation, Annealing furnaces used for plastic forming, Manufacturing of rods by extrusion, Manufacturing of tubes by extrusion, Extrusion machines, Factors effecting extrusion force, Calculation of extrusion force and work, Materials errors in extrusion, Lubrication, Extrusion errors, Rod and wire drawing, Steel wire manufacturing technologies, Tube drawing, Wire drawing matrix and machines, Tube drawing machines, Factors effecting wire drawing force, Calculation of force and work for rod and wire drawing, Wire drawing errors, Other plastic forming methods.

11 – To have knowledge about methods and technologies of plastic forming, 2 – To learn general characteristics of plastic deformation, 3 - To have knowledge about strength increasing treatments, 4 – To learn factors effecting plastic deformation, 5 – To have knowledge about manufacturing of rods and tubes by extrusion, 6 – To have knowledge about extrusion machines, factors effecting extrusion force, calculation of extrusion force and work, 7 – To learn rod and wire drawing, steel wire manufacturing technologies, tube drawing, wire drawing matrix and machines, tube drawing machines. 8- To have knowledge about factors effecting wire drawing force, calculation of force and work for rod and wire drawing.
