Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable the postgraduate students to learn the weldability of steels and cast iron materials extensively used in industry and their behaviours by various welding methods.
Course Content Introduction to the welding of metals and the classification of welding methods, Welding methods, Weldability of metals, Metallurgical processes taking place during welding, Production, classification and heat treatments of steels and cast irons, Continuous cooling TTT (Time-Temperature-Transformation) – diagrams for welding, Welding of non-alloy structural steels, Welding of high strength structural steels, Welding of low alloy steels, Welding of high alloy steels, Welding of cast steels and cast irons.
