Course Objective This course aims to teach which one is more appropriate to use from various instrumental analysis methods in solve of the different geochemical problems. On the other hand, principles and techniques of the some analysis methods used to Geosciences will be explained.
Course Content methods of sampling, preparing stages for mineral separation; crushing, gridding and washing, laboratory equipments and chemicals used for mineral separation, mineral separation techniques, the importance of microscope in the mineral separation, the concepts of accuracy, precision and sensitivity, the concepts of standard, magnetite separator, thermic analysis, XRF, XRD, ICP and ICP-Mass Spectrometry, Micro analytic methods, EMPA, SEM-EDS. Applications of geochemical analyses.
