Course Objective The aim of this course is to teach the use of environmentally friendly (green) chemical methods in the extraction of bioactive compounds, and to examine the advantages of sustainable, energy-efficient, and non-toxic approaches in comparison to conventional extraction techniques.
Course Content In this course, students learn the basic principles of green chemistry and compare traditional and modern methods in the extraction of bioactive compounds in the context of green chemistry. They learn about green solvents and green extraction techniques. They learn about sustainability assessments, energy consumption, solvent recovery, and applications of waste management in extraction processes.
