ENM 584DECISION MODELS IN CIRCULAR ECONOMY3 + 02nd Semester7,5

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Circular economy is an economic model that aims to protect natural resources from raw material use to waste generation in production, aims to minimize waste, and focuses on using resources more efficiently and sustainably. Unlike the traditional linear economy model based on the "take-use-throw" logic, in the circular economy, products are used and evaluated for as long as possible, and the amount of waste is minimized. Determining the most appropriate system and supply chain options to support the circular economy will also bring advantages in terms of cost. The aim of this course is to introduce circular systems to students and teach them how to design these systems with industrial engineering and operations research techniques. The transformation of linear systems into circular systems, waste management, and efficient resource use will also be discussed.
