COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To evaluate the functions of microbial species in the ecosystem and to provide the importance of biotechnological aspects of microbial ecology and biological control of decay to the ecologically.
Course Content The course includes the following titles: Microbial groups, microbial habitats, microbial interactions, biogeochemical cycles, degradation of synthetic chemicals in soil and water, fungi and mycotoxine, the role of microorganisms in water quality, quorum-sensing, biofilm, bio-corosion, bioluminescence.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to distinguish concepts of microbial ecology, habitat and ecology.
2Will be able to determine microbial population and ecosystems.
3Will be able to aware of the effects of abiotic environmental factors on microorganisms.
4Will be able to describe the basic processes of microbial biotechnology.
5Will be able to compare their activities and microorganisms in natural habitat.
6Will be able aware of using microorganisms for solving of problems in health, environment, food and agriculture and to offer alternatives for solution problems.
7Will be able to provide a good understanding of interactions of microbial species in ecological cycles on the interactions of microbial species.
