Course Objective Basic knowledge of the all key areas of bioinformatics including biological databases, sequence alignment, gene and promoter prediction, molecular phylogenetics, structural bioinformatics, genomics, and proteomics.
Course Content Introduction to Biological Systems, Biological Sequence Databases, Sequence Comparisons and Sequence-Based Database Searches, Structural bioinformatics, The Decoding of Eukaryotic Genomes, Protein Structures and Structure-Based applications, Systems Biology: The Functional Analysis of Genomes, Comparative Genome Analyses, Genomics and proteomics applications, Molecular phylogenetics, Gene and promoter prediction.
