COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To know and apply teaching methods and spotting techniques of artistic gymnastics elements in 6-8 year old girls (vault table, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise apparatus) and boys (floor exercise, pummel house, rings, vault table, parallel bars and high bar apparatus) competition series, to teach and learn basic strength, balance and flexibility exercise in artistic gymnastics skills in different apparatus which are the basic of the performance sport branches, to learn special training methods of artistic gymnastics related age group, to use artistic gymnastics knowledge that learned in their sports branches as a trainer, to learn helping methods related to gymnastics and to have detail information about artistic gymnastics (women and man) competition rules.
Course Content Based on the theoretical aspects of sports science knowledge and skills into practice for sports branch, artistic gymnastics, swimming under different conditions of information to support the teaching of applications includes making.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To know basic skills and techniques related to artistic gymnastics in each apparatus (girls - vault table, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise apparatus - and boys -floor exercise, pummel house, rings, vault table, parallel bars, high bar apparatus) for 6-8 year old children.
2To apply basic skills and techniques related to artistic gymnastics in each apparatus (girls - vault table, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise apparatus - and boys -floor exercise, pummel house, rings, vault table, parallel bars, high bar apparatus) for 6-8 year old children.
3To know improving techniques of artistic gymnastics’ strength, flexibility and balance skills in different apparatus for 6-8 year old children.
4To use artistic gymnastics knowledge that learned in their sports branches as a trainer
5To learn helping methods related to 6-8 year old children’s artistic gymnastics skills in different apparatus.

2 Importance of teaching children gymnastics. Safety procedures in gymnastics.
3 Correct worm-up and cool down techniques. Basic fundamental locomotor, manipulative and balance skills and improvement drills of these skills.
4 Movement concept and skills. Basic stants and body posture in artisric gymnastics.
5 Women artistic gymnastics general competition rulres.
6 Introduce of floor exercise. To explain and practice how to teach basic turns, leg swings, rollings, bridge and handstand.
7 To explain and practice how to teach chartwell, front and back wolkover and back handstand.
8 To explain and practice how to teach diffrent kinds of leaps, jump and skips.
