COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To explain the functions of the banking system, and the importance of effectiveness of financial system and financial structure together with the impact of banking system over the route of the economies and ecnomic development.
Course Content Basic functions of the banking system. Central banks and finance sector, theories of banking. History of banking in the world and Turkey, financial innovations, loanable funds theory and equilibrium conditions in financial markets, financial efficiency of the credit market, funding with different types of credits and its results, banks sources and sourcing options, cost of bank sources and pricing of banking products, alternative and complementary institutions in banking, efficiency of services and total quality management in banks, information management in banks, deposits and credit insurance in banks, financial risk transfer by banks, economic indicators and conditions of sustainable economic progress, the role of banking in terms of economic progress financing, main types of risk in banking, concentrations in banking, international banking transactions and multi-national structures, financial crisis.
