COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective To comprehend the basic motor technologies and calculations. To learn the duties and working principles of engine parts.
Course Content Usage areas and parts of vehicles, types and operating principles of engines, motor systems, types and operation principles; indicator diagrams, the differences between the real and the theoretical cycles, ideal gas laws, basic definitions and calculations (power, efficiency, fuel consumption) and their implementation on theoretical cycles; adjustment of static ignition timing and valves, idle speed adjustment, oil, coolant checks, wire connection controls.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students learn how an ICE runs and provides mechanical energy
2They know the parameters effecting power and other performance outputs and to carry out all calculations in this respect
3They know the basic differences between the two most common ICEs, gasoline and diesel engines and which one is to choose in which application
4They have enough information about all supplementary systems, such as fuel injection, ignition, cooling, lubrication exc., of an ICE necessary to run the engine most efficiently,
5They becomes capable of following the the related technologies
