COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To develop awareness of the principles and methods of landscape architects, acquire information about planting design and the properties of garden and ornamental plants, learn to give the basic design decisions related with the open and green spaces through practice.
Course Content Fundamental concepts of landscape architecture. History of landscape architecture. Human-nature relationship. Landscape planning and landscape design. Site design and grading. Garden plants. Landscape construction. Analysis of awarded landscape design and planning projects. Preparation of a landscape design project.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Define the importance of the relation between man and the environment and evaluates this to the developments around him and to his professional practice
2Acquire fundamental information on whats, whys, hows of landscape architecture and gains the insight to be work with landscape architects in professional practice
3Develop a critical approach based on history of urban development, the emergence of urban green spaces and their diversifications
4Acquire information about garden plants and develop planting design criteria effectively
5Develop a critical point of view towards the open and green spaces in his environment
6Acquire the ability to prepare a landscape design project
7Acquire information about elements of landscape construction and develop implementation details
8Acquire the skill to develop coherent proposals for open and green spaces in their projects
