Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide atudents with basic principles of criminal law, to introduce students with a basic understanding of types of acts and behaviours committing a crime and their legal consequences.
Course Content Basic principles of Criminal Law, purpose, scope and sources of Criminal Law, subject matter in Criminal Law, application of Criminal Code such as issues as ratione materiae, ratione loci and ratione personae, essential elements of a crime, general principles of criminal liability, parties to criminal offences, purpose and forms of criminal punishment, consequences of criminal conviction, calculation of criminal punishment, Suspension of execution of sentence, Probation and parolee, amnesty, administrative action as an alternative to criminal trial, restitution of divested rights, preventive measures.
