Course Objective The aim of this course is to teach students the fundamental theoretical concepts, application techniques involved in data communication and computer networks, basic theories essential to the understanding of communications systems and computer networks.
Course Content Fundamentals of data communication and computer networks, ISO/OSI basic reference model. Physical, Data Link, Network, and Transport Layers. Routing, Flow Control, Congestion Control, Error Detection and Correction. Serial and Parallel Interfaces, TCP/IP Suite of Protocols. Higher layer protocols, Wireless Networks.
