Course Objective Lower income but rapid growth economies that are using economic liberalization as their engine of growth are categorized as emerging market economies. With the increasing importance of emerging market economies in global economy, understanding the dynamics behind the development steps of these countries gets important. With this course, providing a basic understanding of key economic issues involved in emerging markets is aimed. It is aimed to reveal the effects of various macroeconomic indicators by making sectoral distinctions in developing countries. In addition, students will acquire the ability to critically analyse the interaction between economic factors and institutional factors in the formulation and implementation of economic policies in emerging economies.
Course Content Introduction: Issues in Emerging Markets Economies, Sectorel Analysis; Structure of Agricultural Sector in EMEs, The Industry Structure in EMEs, Service Sector in EMEs, Labor Force Markets in EMEs, Capital Market Developmentes in EMEs, Total Factor Productivity in EMEs, The Effect of 2008 Crisis, Inflation , Unemployment in EMEs, Foreign Direct Investments in EMEs, Monetary and Fiscal Policies in EMEs
