Course Objective Aim of This course is to inform students about poetry as a literary genre, and to introduce French poetry from past to today by giving examples chosen from different centuries and various poets, in the framework of literary movements which directs poetry
Course Content The content of this course is composed of various poems et poets chosen from different centuries and the literary movements which directs poetry.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Student should talk and write about the romantic poetry and poets.
2Student should talk and write about Victor Hugo, the cult poet of romanticism and his poetry.
3Student should talk and write about the characteristics of symbolist poetry and its poets
4Student can know Parnassian poetry and poets and he can tell the properties Parnassian poetry
5Student should talk and write about Baudelaire, the cult poet of symbolist poetry and his poems.
6Student should talk and write about Paul Verlaine, one of the important poets of smbolisme and his poetry
7Student should talk and write about Arthur Rimbaud and his poetry .
8Student should talk and write about the stages in the transition from the 19th Century poetry to modern poetry.
9Student should demonstrate his knowledge on prose poetry
