Course Objective The aim of course is examining the works of Ottoman art the diffusion regions of the Ottoman state from XIV. The second half of the century to the conquest of Istanbul in 1453 will be examined. In addition, the Early Ottoman architectural and decorative art will be evaulated and The impact of Early Ottoman on the classical Ottoman art will be discussed.
Course Content The lesson covers early examples of Ottoman architecture and connections between their past and the classical period.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to get about the artistic activities of Ottoman State in the known as Ottoman Interregnum Period (1402-1413).
2Will be able to recognize the works of art in the period of Mehmed Celebi.
3Will be able to recognize the period of Murad II.
4Will be able to recognize Three Şerefeli Mosque in Edirne and to learn the importance of its place in Turkish art.

1 Yıldırım Mausoleum and Azepler Namazgahı in Gallipoli which were two of the most important buildings built in the period called as Fetret (1402-1413) in Ottoman history will be evaluated.
2 After briefly mentioning about Çelebi Mehmed and his ruling period, two educational buildings of the period, Hacı Halil Madrasah in Merzifon-Gümüş and Çelebi Mehmed Madrasah and bathrooms in Merzifon will be analyzed.
3 Evaluation the buildings of the period of Çelebi Mehmed will be continued. Devlet Hatun Mausoleum in Bursa, Bedesten of Edirne, Geyve Inn, The Old Mosque in Edirne and The Mosque of Ahmed-Bayezid Pasha will be presented.
4 Green Complex İn Bursa and the anaysis of the architecture of the period will be cantinued.
5 Presentation of Green Complex İn Bursa will be cantinued.
6 After evaluating The Mosque of Bursa-Timurtaş and The Mosque of Dimetoka-Çelebi Mehmed, an overall analysis of the architecture of the period will be performed.
7 After a brief introduction of Murad II and his period, the mosques of Gazi Mihal, Şah Melek Pasha and Yörgüç Pasha which shows different applications in the architectural activities of the period will be evaluated.
8 Muradiye Complex, which Murad II ordered to be built in Bursa, will be analyzed regarding its place in Ottoman Complexes.
9 Mausoleums in Muradiye Complex will be analyzed in details.
10 Mid-term Exam
11 Caravansary and the mosque was built between the structures of this period, 1430-1438.
12 Major water structures in the early Ottoman architecture, with a different plan types exhibiting two mosques Ergene Bridge.
13 By presenting Üç Şerefeli Camii, built in Edirne, its place in the Turkish Art will be evaluated.
