COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to teach students the basic concepts of management and organization theories, and then to enable them to understand the role of knowledge management systems in the business world. Students will analyze processes of accessing, storing, sharing, and utilizing information, and will gain practical skills in digital transformation, corporate knowledge systems, data security, and innovation management.
Course Content Fundamentals of management science, organization theories, emergence and development of knowledge management, types of knowledge and knowledge cycle, knowledge sharing in organizations, digital transformation and information technologies, data management, corporate knowledge systems, innovation and learning organizations, knowledge security, intellectual capital, e-government, and e-business applications. The course is supported by current market-based knowledge management tools.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Explains the basic principles of management and organization theories and interprets their relationship with the concept of knowledge management.
2Describes the knowledge management process (creation, sharing, storage, and use of knowledge) with examples.
3Differentiates between tacit and explicit knowledge and analyzes the knowledge conversion processes (socialization, externalization, combination, internalization).
4Evaluates the human, technological, process, and cultural components required for establishing corporate knowledge management systems.
