COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable students to learn the fundamental concepts and principles of commercial business law, including the concept of merchant, commercial transactions and their provisions, commercial books, trade name, unfair competition, company law, and negotiable instruments law. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to interpret legal rules governing commercial life, analyze basic commercial disputes, and evaluate the legal structure of business entities. In addition, the course aims to develop students’ legal reasoning skills, professional ethics awareness, and legal literacy.
Course Content This course covers the fundamental concepts of commercial law, commercial enterprise, merchant and legal consequences of merchant status, commercial transactions and provisions, commercial judiciary system, commercial books, trade name and business name, trademarks and unfair competition, commercial representation and agency relationships, company law (general partnership, limited partnership, joint stock company, and limited liability company), negotiable instruments law (promissory notes, checks, bills of exchange), and basic characteristics of bills of exchange. The course aims to enable students to evaluate commercial law rules through case studies.
