COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to help students comprehend the basic concepts of the communication process; introduce verbal and nonverbal communication types; teach the importance of nonverbal elements such as body language, gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, tone of voice, and personal distance; and improve empathy, active listening, and effective expression skills in both organizational and individual communication contexts.
Course Content The course covers the concept, process, and basic elements of communication; verbal, written, and nonverbal types of communication; body language, gestures, and facial expressions; personal space and spatial use; the importance of tone of voice and eye contact; cross-cultural differences in nonverbal communication; organizational communication and effective communication skills in professional settings; empathy, active listening, and common communication mistakes. The course includes practical body language exercises, role-plays, and visual analyses.

1Explains the basic concepts, types, and elements of the communication process
2Distinguishes between verbal and nonverbal communication types and explains them with examples.

5Identifies barriers and problems in the communication process and develops appropriate solutions.
