Course Objective This course aims to create an original knowledge structure about the two basic subjects of the economy and the labor market and to be able to identify problems with analytical methods and produce solutions.
Course Content In this course, the concepts of population, labor force, employment, and unemployment, their importance, characteristics, and types, the emergence of the concepts of employment and unemployment within the framework of schools of economics, their significance and perspectives on the problems are discussed, the concepts of complementary indicators in the labor market, dependency rate, labor force participation rate are examined and the data of Turkey and developed and, developing countries are compared, and unemployment combat policies are examined.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learns the definition of employment and unemployment concepts, their types, reasons, the perspective of employment and unemployment in the labor market within the framework of economic schools, the relationship between economic growth and employment, and policies to combat unemployment.
2Understands and learns about the changing demographic structure, labor force, working age population, dependency rate, labor force participation rate, concepts related to complementary labor force indicators, and the characteristics of Turkey's labor market.
