Course Objective The aim of this course the importance of the World Trade Organization in terms of international trade as a detailed examination of the institution to introduce.
Course Content The course will introduce the basic norms and legal framework of international trade as expressed in the GATT/WTO regime. The course will examine the basic provisions of the GATT and WTO Agreements, including Most Favored Nation, National Treatment, Technical Barriers, and provisions on quantitative restrictions, government procurement, and exemption and limitation clauses. The course will also cover the GATS (General Agreement on Trade in Services), TRIPS (Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) and the dispute settlement procedure under WTO, the WTO Appellate Body and its recent decisions.
