Course Objective	The aim of this course is to clarify the development of Turkish internal politics within its historical background and to evaluate the evolution of Turkish democracy over the titles of constitution, military, political parties and civil society.
Course Content	Single-Party Regime, Transition to Multi-Party Politics, Coup d’état of 27th May, Coalition Governments, 12th March Military Intervention, The Coup d’état of 12th September, Political life after 1983.
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.

1	It explains differences between single party period of Republic and our multi-party politics.
2	It clarifies the process of transition to democracy
3	It demonstrates the drawbacks of consolidation of democracy in history of Turkish democracy
4	It shows the function of army, political parties, civil society in Turkish politics from past to present
5	It expresses the effects of constitutions and the processes of introducing constitutions on Turkish politics.
